For a Soldier has to be Brave
Personal[/u]
Full Name: Xiu Zhu
Gender: Female
Age: Fifteen
Element: Water
Alignment: Water Tribe
Location: Southern Water Tribe (it doesn't really say what it's village name is. ene)
Appearance:Xiu is a rather beautiful young woman. She stands at only five feet four inches, which really isn't that short or tall. It's kind of a... 'Just perfect' height in her point of view. Her skin is almost as pale as the snow, but that is only due to the limited sunlight down in the Southern Water Tribe. Her brunette hair is long and slightly wavy, coming down to her waist. She normally wears it down with nothing in it. However, while visiting other nations, she will often stick a flower in her hair. Her eyes are the color of amber or, as her mother use to call it, 'tree sap'. She doesn't like the thick, blue clothing that her tribe wears, and she always changes into something else on the rare warmer days or when she goes to another nation.
Personality:At first glance, Xiu seems like the shy type of girl who doesn't like to speak much. In all reality, she is actually a Progressive Mute. Due to events from her childhood, she has locked away all of her words, thinking it was best to not be heard. Whenever she is asked to speak, however, she will simply carve her reply into the earth or ice using either a random stick, rock, or her water bending.
She use to be so alive and full of emotion back when she was a child, but now she seems almost lifeless. Not completely lifeless, but lifeless. Her face normally doesn't show emotion, unless you can irritate or embarrass her. Smiles come by scarcely, and she'll only show them to certain people or animals. Mainly animals because they don't pry at her and are comforting for her to be around.
Stubborn to the bone, getting her to stop going through a plan she thought up is absolutely pointless. Once she puts it into motion, there's no going back for her. This often times puts her in dangerous situations, which is bad since she can't call out for help if needed. With normal people, their parents would verbally scold them for such behavior. With Xiu, her parents got physical every now and again. That is why, when someone actually decides to verbally scold her, she actually shows fear, thinking they will harm her.
Hobbies:+ Penguin Sledding

History:Born in the harsh winters of the Southern Water Tribe, Xiu was your average child for a long time. Her parents acted kind and treated her well. For a while, her life seemed as perfect as it could get. Of course, all perfection has their flaws. When she was four, her father father came home, drunk, and passed out on the floor of their igloo. Her mother wasn't too pleased about him doing so while there was a child at home, and the pair began to argue.
Hostility seemed to fill the house of ice. Xiu would try to interject and stop them from verbally fighting, but it always went unnoticed. Whenever she was heard, her father, being drunk as he was during these fights, would lash out at her. For the first year of this happening, her mother would try to stop him from doing so. It always went in vain.
On her fifth birthday, the usual party they would have was ruined when her parents began arguing once more. She tried to interject again, but her 'reward' for doing so was being locked (well, isolated) in her room. Away from her party. The next day, she just woke up and couldn't speak. It was as if all those failed attempts to cease her parents' fighting finally told to just shut up and let fate play its course.
Her parents didn't notice this, of course.
One day, Xiu decided to just go visit her grandmother while her parents vented their anger on each other. Now, her grandmother seemed to be the only one she could actually go to in a time of need. The elderly woman had a few pet White Hamsters in which Xiu would allow to crawl all over her, tickling the young girl with their little claws and long tails. That day, her grandmother took her out on a small boat, claiming that they were going to go fishing. The claim held true until her grandmother started talking about water bending, chi, and a few other things.
She coaxed Xiu to trying a few basic movements. While on the boat. It didn't seem safe, but she did it anyways. Her grandmother told her to continue doing the movements until the water below actually started to stir, and a small wobbly sphere of water lifted into the air. Out of the surprise of it, she lost her concentration and dropped to water.
From then on, whenever her parents got a bit too verbal with each other, she would sneak off to her grandmother's house and practice water bending. When she was ten, her father found out. He wasn't very pleased to say in the least. After a little 'discussion', Xiu was left in her room with a few dark bruises and a ban from her grandmother's house. It was a horrible life for her live, but she tried, as hard as she could, to keep it from getting to her. She would practice water bending using the water from the snow. When her parents would allow it, she would go out and go Penguin Sledding. Anything to keep her mind off the matter at hand.
When Xiu was thirteen, her grandmother died. The event tore the girl up inside, and she was the only one of her household to go to the funeral. Apparently, in her grandmother's will, she left the White Hamsters in her name, so she took the little rodents in. Her parents didn't care about that, so they allowed her to keep them. In the two years that followed, one of the hamsters died of old age. This left her with only two of her grandmother's White Hamsters, and they seem to be the only thing keeping her from plummeting into depression from her abusive parents.
