Chi is the universal formula that allows Benders to gain new techniques of their element and heighten their skills to obtain abilities of greater complexity. Chi refers to metaphysical energy that flows throughout the body and it is used serves as the root of all Elemental Bending, as an array of other skills. Without Chi, there is no bending, which is why everyone begins with 300 Chi upon joining this RPG. Below are different ways in which you may gain Chi.
Posting: Really, you may gain Chi simply by posting in some way, shape or form, whether you are posting in general topics or in the role play itself. No matter what, each posts provides the member with 2 Chi. This is done two encourage plays to post as often as possible. However, do not abuse this feature by spamming or creating unnecessary threads.
Role Playing: Role Playing, as you may have guessed, is the most efficient way to gain Chi and refers to any in-character narrative written within the Role Playing forum. The best approach to this is creating a new thread or joining a thread already made and creating a story involving your character and others in some way, shape, or form. When the story is finished, a staff member will reward you with an amount of Chi based on your work.
Events: As a way to encourage players to participate in events, participants will receive double the normal Chi reward once the role play is judged. These events occur every so often in different nations and relate to the main plotline of Element Memories so they are very important and require everyone’s participation.

After you have earned an amount of Chi, you may spend it on techniques of your particular element that may enhance your character’s overall abilities. Below lists the cost of each Bending Technique based on its difficulty. Keep in mind that this only lists the immediate cost of a technique and does not refer to your Total Chi requirement to proceed through each difficulty. For that information, continue reading.
Basic Difficulty: 100 Chi Advanced Difficulty: 300 Chi Master Difficulty: 500 Chi
In addition, your Total Chi (both gained and spent) must be recorded throughout your progression in order to proceed past each difficulty. It is really up to you how you keep track of your total Chi-whether it is place in your profile, character information, signature, etc. It must be accurate and updated carefully since the staff will reference this as you gain techniques beyond the basic bending.
Basic Difficulty: 100 Total Chi Advanced Difficulty: 800 Total Chi Master Difficulty: 1500 Total Chi
